“The Graveltones
live are a phenomenal experience. Watching them
bulldozes any presumption of a new White Stripes or
Black Keys thanks to their Bonham-esque thunder drumming
and cocooning vocals.”
The Graveltones return with their brand new album ‘Love
Lies Dying’ which is set for release on 31st May 2015
through Lagoon Dog Records.
UK
based Australian duo the Graveltones formed in late
2011, after the two members met in London’s Tin Pan
Alley, brought together by a mutual love of artists as
diverse as Captain Beefheart, Howlin Wolf, John Lee
Hooker and QOTSA. They announced their arrival on the
scene with ballsy 2013 debut album ”Don’t Wait Down”.
Critically acclaimed the album spawned a host of
playlisted songs and saw the band tour extensively with
the likes of Rival Sons, The Temperance Movement. Boss
Hoss, Monster Truck, Cadillac Three and a stunning set
at Download Festival 2013. They also landed sync deals
with the Irish Lottery and cosmetic giants Rimmel who
took advantage of their phenomenal studio sound using
the bands 1st single ‘I Want Your Love’ to front their
national TV advertising campaign against the face of
Kate Moss. They also had the track “Forget about the
trouble” featured on the national hockey league 2015
video game. band ended the year nominated for the ‘Best
New Band’ award at the Classic Rock Awards.
“Love Lies Dying” sees The Graveltones come of age. They
have delivered a stunning collection of songs, bristling
with aggression and crackling with energy. From the
laconic album opener “World On A String” to the
swaggering riff fest of “Big Money”. From the surf punk
of “I’m A Ghost” to the instant groove of “This Love’s
Gonna Break”, this is an album that merges the
piledriver drums of Mikey Sorbello with the dirty
guitars and powerful vocals of Jimmy O. The album was
produced by Jaime Gomez Arellano (Ghost) at Orgone
Studios in London.
Vocalist Jimmy O’s thoughts on the record ”It’s one of
those things, when you record a bunch of songs and send
them out there to play ball you hope you’ve raised them
up good enough to take care of themselves, and all these
songs seem to get along with each other real well. They
make a good team. I think they’re gonna be alright.”
Drummer Mikey adds “Recording this album felt so right,
we had the right producer and engineer and the sounds
just fell out of us” |

The Luke Doherty Band - Luke was born on 29th March
1994, in Newport, Gwent. He had an interest in music at
a very young age.
Although no one in his family play an instrument, he was
determined to learn to play something, and at the age of
5 he started playing piano, but didn’t like it. He then
asked to play the drums but was told by a drum teacher
he was way too young and to wait a couple of years. He
then settled on a 1/2 size acoustic guitar which he had
to give up after 3 months due to medical reasons. At
71/2 he was nagging his parents again to learn guitar,
so they bought him a second hand 1/2 size electric
guitar and a second hand amp and he has never looked
back. He instantly became hooked on blues, intently
watching any blues musicians he could find on TV or DVD.
Although being faced with a few serious medical problems
Luke has been determined to pursue his passion. He
visited Cheethams School of Music in Manchester and
Guitar X in London for some advice, but to be told that
he was way too young to proceed with his exams in
electric guitar, and they said that they had never come
across this situation before. His parents took him to
jam sessions in local pubs so that he could play Blues
with other people and at the age of 12 he was asked to
open a 3 day Music Festival, on the main stage, with
some adults form local bands. In 2009 he supported Buddy
Whittington in the Globe in Cardiff and has since
supported Buddy on a few occasions. In 2012 he was very
fortunate to meet the ultimate man of Blues BB King.
Luke has now played at many Festivals and Blues Clubs,
and many more are planned in 2015
